This makes more sense in my food blog but it is so not vegetarian that I have to put it here!
I learnt how to kill a lobster.
Lobster is supposed to be eaten while it is still fresh and what better way to eat the freshest than kill it yourself minutes before you eat it? Yuck! Anyways.
You bring a live lobster home and stick it in the freezer for a few minutes. Like 10 minutes. This puts the lobster into a deep sleep. A sleep so deep that they wont protest to what you do next. You get the lobster out of the freezer and stick right into a pot of boiling water. It dies (hold your breath) in 30 secs. Cruel cruel cruel.
Enjoy your meal people (who eat it).

Ewwwww ! Welll ... here is a more cruel one ...
Its easy to skin a chicken (and save precious minutes in a crowded sales counter) if its killed in a certain way.
An the way is ... have boiling water in a big vessel upto the brim. THe VEssel has a lid with a handle to it. Throw a live kicking chickien (not a frozen unconcious one) into the vessel and even before it can make a sound - close it with the lid and hold it tight - 5 seconds may be - the flaps stop.
Lo behold - semicooked chicken which can be easily skinned and gutted is ready.
BTW - for the sake of argument - whats the difference between this and doing the same thing to a potato ?
Gulp! I do not feel that bad abt killing a potato?
