I have been tagged by Lekhni to write 5 things that I hope to achieve by 60 and 5 things I miss. Thankfully the upper limit is 5. I hate it when it is 10 because if you have so many things to do and miss then boy you dont have a life!

5 things I hope to do by the time I turn 60 (scares me that am only 3 decades and some away from this number)

1. I hope to be less paranoid about everyday happenings than I am today. I hope age brings my wisdom teeth with it.
2. I hope to not have a single grey hair on my head. And also while I am there I hope to have lustrous long hair. Both of which needs to start now inorder to reverse the current process in the next 30 years. Is someone up there listening by the way?
3. Simplicity in technology. This one is not for me but for the aliens who should do this so that earthlings can just take advantage of technology without having to bust their brains figuring it out. But I would like to see it happen by the time am 60.
4. Participated in a reality show and won which would have also brought in atleast a crore rupees after tax cuts. I assume it would have the same value as ten lakhs now, 30 years later. Budhape ki insurance.
5. Learnt from T eventually to be patient and tolerant. One could call this a frivolous thought but its not!

5 things I miss

1. My wisdom teeth.
2. Staring into nothing, no time (read as politically incorrect to admit doing this at office)
3. The excitement of secret love. Always fun!

At this point I started thinking so hard that it seemed to me that whatever I write would be wishful missing. So I stop :)

The "About" Section

Accidental Diva has tagged me to say 9 things about myself.Out of which one has to be a lie. I think the latter is the easy part. I can talk about being a dragon rider :). I confess that I am a little self obsessed. I do talk a lot about myself. Even in my blog the tag with the most number of posts is "me". But a post with 8 things about myself is a totally different ride. I am wondering if I should put up only politically correct truths about myself....only time will tell ;)

Ok and can any of you guess which one is the lie?

• I am a vociferous reader. One of my favourite uncles had given me this character insight about myself when I was around 13 years old. The word vociferous sounded romantic to me and I always made it a point to tell people I was this :)
• I love horror movies. What I love most about them are the sound effects. Groovy! Its almost like being on a rollercoaster and I crave for the adrenalin rush! The Ring is my most favourite movie.
• I eat a lot which has started showing on me. Its like am making up for all the food my body refused as a kid! Basically you should go back to Shrek 1 where the princess gets transformed to an ogress. Thats the physical transformation that has happened to me except that my colour is not green and I dont have long hair.
• I am not a huge fan of cooking. Sigh! I dont think this is a good thing to say especially since I also write a food blog. But what I dont like about cooking is the quantities, I never remember how much of what to put in a dish. Never!
• I am a Hypersomniac. I am out like a light in any moving vehicle except a plane (but then it doesnt have the rocking movement) :). I can sleep at any time of the day and in any amount of light. I like the early to bed and late to rise proverb ;).
• I drive a car in my dreams. I can steer nothingness very well and weave around imaginary vehicles. I never honk. I can step hard on no pedal and change gears with a movement of my eye. I can brake nothing with the precision of a robot.
• I am an incessant talker. Not many people who know me know this. I can talk about anything and for a long time. I bore T and my parents with my monologues! I can give advices which would put the swamis and gurus of the world to shame. But of course like any practical human being I dont practice the same.
• I like doing embroidery. I like gathering a lot of ideas about designs and differnt stitches but do get lazy during the execution. I have a big cross-stitch piece which I have been (not) doing for the past 8 years and its still not done. My kid-neighbour Ammu saw me toiling at it for 4 hours one sunday and two lines of the "sky" later she finally exclaimed "Is that all you could finish?!" :). I have done nice designs on a few dresses of mine though. I used to be good at drawing but havent explored or capitalised on that art. Now I can only sketch T's face and make it look almost like him.
• I dont know how to put make-up on my face and I am not very young! I recently discovered kajal and am yet to master eyeliner. I am also learning the goodness of conditioner for my badly maintained hair. I have a bad hair day by default. And for the life of me I cannot paint my nails well enough that it wont smudge and get messed up 15 minutes later.

Now that looks like a pretty picture of me :))
I would like Hannah, Cheti, Nita, Thanai and AFJ to keep the ball rolling :)

A Book Tag!

Hannah, the lovely maiden, has tagged for a book related meme (*chuckle*, i always find that word funny)
I met Hannah in Bangalore and what I liked most about her (apart from the fact that her blogs are ultra cool and funny) is that she opines about everything under the sun. I, am this cathartic creature who is gone deeply in the zone of "I dont care", hence it's a welcome change to be a part of this meme (*chuckle*)

Hardback or paperback: Paper. Harbacks give me the feeling of reading text books

Barnes and Noble or Border’s: Never gone to either. But my favourite in Bangalore used to be Premier Book Store (which closed down a few months ago). I like small shops where books are piled to the roof and I can rummage through that discovering treasures. Also like Crosswords which is neat and organised and lot of people to help you. Am a paradox!

Bookmark or dog-ear: Ok if you poke me and ask Bookmark but then I usually dont remember to keep those in. I generally remember the size of the pages left to read and I approximately open a page and start looking. This practice is very handy if you take up a book to read again after a long gap. It helps you re-read and re-remember :) (I like collecting bookmarks though)

Alphabetize by author, alphabetize by subject, or random: Random, hmmm I like to stack books according to their length!

Keep, throw away or sell: Keep. (Wish a genie would neatly dust it every once in a while)

Keep the dust jacket or toss it: No idea, whats a dust jacket anyway?

Short story or novel: Novel.

Collection (same author) or anthology (different authors): Anthology

Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket: Neither (R.K.Narayan)

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks: I pull myself to a chapter break but my eyes decide usually.

“It was a dark and storm night” or “once upon a time?”: Depends on my mood. I like mysteries when I want to get away from things :)

Buy or borrow: Borrow (and then keep). Ok any of my friends reading this - Am just kidding ;)

New or used: I like new. What I like more is the smell of new books, fresh pages :)

Buying choice: errr...whatzzat?

Tidy endings or cliffhangers: Tidy endings. I may appreciate cliff hangers in a movie!

Morning reading, afternoon reading, or nighttime reading: Night, but these days its more relegated to weekend afternoons

Stand-alone or series: Stand-alone.

Favorite series: I read all of Arthur Hailey's books one after the other.Though its not really a series I loved it!

Am in the right frame of mind after the blog de anger to complete my tag assignment.
Here is the list of things I hate :

• Waking up early (that would be anytime before 10 AM) in the morning.
• People telling me that I look sleepy when am freshest in my mind and wide awake (come to think of it I can’t blame them because I am sleepy half the time wrt reason in prev point).
• Staying alone at home (which is contrary to situation before marriage hinting at chameleonic change of character).
• People conveying their opinions about me or telling me what to do indirectly by voicing it in my proximity to somebody else.
• Science fiction books and movies (except for Scary Movie series maybe).
• The fact that Good food = lots of fat (notice the non usage of nutritious, when I mean good I mean extra cheese cream fried etc).
• Traffic at peak hours in Bangalore (but as my hubby says it also means positive progress in standard of living).
• Oh yeah can’t forget the loud burps that emanate from some mouths who think that’s the best way to express appreciation for the delicious food consumed (this is except for people who have a genuine gastric disorder).

At this point I stop because if adding on any more to the list needs thinking then its not worth showering any emotion on, even if its only hate :)

A bright new day. A break from everyday activities. Am enjoying today already inspite of it being only 8:45 AM yet. And to top it all I have been tagged by Neets. I am supposed to list down all things that i hate. Hmmm now me being a positive person blah blah and the other, I wonder how I am going to come up with a list. I can right away tell you that if there is one thing I hate most then its getting up early in the morning! Just can't stand it. No siree. But to come up with a list requires some soul search ;) and *thinking*. Will give that you in my next pohost.

Black and White. There are some classics there which would just look best with that lighting. I love Mary Poppins and My Fair lady and a whole bunch of others.

MP3s....its accessible

Really tempting...but i would sorely miss them so No!

I would want to shout out "Comeon ppl dont listen to all those pea brained sadists who are instigating you to unleash fear in the minds of innocent ppl" but then heck who will listen to puny me?

• You are given the chance to go back and change 1 thing in your life; what would that be?

I feel things have happened to me at the right time. No regrets.

• You are given the chance to go back and change 1 event in world history, what would that be?

I am not sure coz i would then be scared of the consequences. A known devil is better than an unknown angel!

Whatever happened to all those pencils that i dropped under my seat in kindergarten?? It would just have vanished by the time i bent down to retrieve it!

Arthur Hailey coz i want him to explain stock markets to me. I would serve him rasam(lentil soup) rice and curd rice with mango pickle.
