Paper speaketh

The lines on my face bear testimony,
To the endless pouring from you.
You fill me with stories untold,
Colouring me with your soul.
You entwine me between your fingers and I let you,
Always springing back to your smile of satisfaction.
You shape my very being as wont,
And I willingly become your proud creation.
It is not a few times that I act as a conduit,
To deliver your emotions unto others as though my own.
I can calm your mind like no other,
With a dialogue unspoken yet conversed.
I remind you about all that is important in life,
No matter that the evidence was an impatient scrap.
I lead you to dream through my words,
Basking in the proximity and comfort I can bring you.
You have me near you always, dear one;
I cannot imagine the white vaccum otherwise.

Choked

Sitting in front of the comp,
Yawns coming on with utmost show and pomp.
Struggling to think of writing good,
Feel Inspirational, wish I could.
Switch on TV, a Kannada movie pours light into the hall,
I am told the hero is my favourite but I have no recall.
Look at T "give me a topic " pleading in eyes,
But he is busy chatting with the Watch India IPTV guys.
The little one lying beside me with legs strewn around,
Tightly closed eyes but not a wink of sleep bound.
Words not pouring but running out of time,
Why does my poetry end up with a rhyme?

My Pongal pot overfloweth

Early morning sun glancing through the covers
Waking up to the fragrance of jasmine flowers
A day when there in no warrant for discipline
Free to do as free as will can be
Climbing up the stairs to the terrace
To fly kites, in the sky, through the colourful maze
Wearing western dresses with much admonished glee
As youngsters fashion does not advocate"langa-angi"
Having a ready snack for the next fifteen days
Sneaking Yellu bella out of the kitchen in umpteen ways
Uttering the word "beer" a thousand times as easily as water
To see what novelty pakkad-mane aunty would barter
Any moment I expected a shout-out for lunch from my mother dearie
"Siri Where is my coffeeee" breaks through my reverie

For the child in us, there is an adult in our spouse to wake us up to reality. But nothing diminishes the joy the festival of Sankranthi brings.
Happy Sankranthi / Pongal to you all.

Life as a Sonnet

Looking out at the gloomy skies,
Greeting the sun, driving away the shies.
A little fight lost,
Brushing teeth at any cost.
A big battle won,
School for the little one.
Cooking cleaning and admiring,
Yoga flexes my bones and wiring.
Happiness as the school bus deposits,
Lunch pleas and bath as time flits.
Cozy evenings spent with toys,
Lego cities brings all round joys.
Night bears down fast and dark,
Dinner and to dreamland we would embark.

Bonus lines:
All through one friend stands by me,
The steadfast and loyal TV.

Poetry in Motion

Walking into a cool breeze
Senses soothed to perfect ease
Marching to the tune of Kishore Kumar
Drunk on energy and enthusiasm
Singing loudly in the dark night
Feeling on top of the world
Bewildering the tail wagging stray dogs
Which befriend faster than humans
Staring right into the eyes of strangers
Who want to remain strangers
Defiantly
Smiling
Dreaming about the goodness of life
Loving the low light cast romantically
Across the road
Hiding my most comfortable tracks
Torn at the ankles
Not a care in the world
But for the Indicabs turning suddenly
At top speed
Leisure at its best
My 30 minutes evening walk
